The Secret Gene Hack to Lose Weight Without Diet or Exercise

The slimness gene

- why some people don't get fat and what prevents them from losing weightOveryone knows that

excess weight is bad for your health. But it is very difficult to get rid of it, someone for years

without results counts calories and tried many diets. Surprisingly, but there are people who easily

manage to keep their weight normal. Especially incomprehensible if they do not make the

slightest effort, do not torture themselves with training and eat whatever they want.

It's all in the genes! So said a group of scientists from the University of Cambridge (UK).

What are their conclusions based on and what can we do about it? About the project, conclusions,

prospects and real steps for weight loss today told endocrinologist LDC "Kutuzovsky" - Patimat

Karimova.

Overweight and genes - what is common

The causes of excess pounds are many: metabolic disorders due to diseases, overeating and too

caloric food, lack of mobility, excess in the diet trans fats and other not very healthy foods. All of

this should not be underestimated, but scientists have long had an assumption that another factor

leads to obesity - genes.

One of the most ambitious projects of recent years in medicine - the UK Biobank project - has

helped to convince us of this. This is a study that collected the genetic data of half a million

people from across the country between 2006 and 2010. The collected genetic data, as well as

information about the health of the participants, their food preferences and lifestyle are now

being analyzed by scientists. And are drawing interesting conclusions that will allow the medicine

of the future to move forward. Interestingly, all the data is in the public domain, which makes it

possible for scientists around the world to use it.

By comparing the DNA of participants with normal weight and overweight, Cambridge

University scientists have identified several mutations in genes. And it is these, according to the

researchers, that prevent obesity from developing regardless of lifestyle and diet. The findings are

published by the scientific journal PLoS Genetics.

A key role in the regulation of eating behavior, taste preferences and speed of weight gain plays a

gene MC4R. And mutations in it involving a number of other genes leads to a person gaining

weight faster, more difficult to control appetite, prefers fatty foods and has difficulty losing

weight.

A child with these genetic traits is born with the same weight as peers. But by the age of eight,

they weigh 3.5 kg more than other average children, and by the age of 18 more by 12.3 kg. As

they get older, the weight increases faster and more.

Interesting!!! There is an opinion that it is this gene that allowed people to survive in the past,

when the ability to make fat reserves could save from starvation in a bad harvest year. But today

it has become the cause of the most severe forms of obesity and the difficulty in trying to

normalize weight.

Understanding the mechanisms that underlie various diseases will allow people to create new

drugs for treatment in the not too distant future. Prof. Sadaf Farooqi, one of the authors of the

study, is confident of this.

Interesting! A group of biologists from different countries have discovered in the brain area

(in the hypothalamus) and cells that control signals of hunger and satiety. They produce the

hormone AgRP, which affects nerve cells with receptors like MC4R. There are already successful

experiments on mice, which show that artificially stimulating this area can achieve a loss of

appetite. Losing weight will become easier.

How to lose weight?

But such studies, although encouraging, this is not a reason to write off your excess weight on

genes, fold your hands and do nothing! So believes Sadaf Farooqi and many other scientists and

doctors. A reasonable diet, adherence to the principles of healthy eating, regular and sufficient

physical activity - important and mandatory conditions for maintaining weight in the norm.

Interesting! By 2025, 2.7 billion people will have a few extra pounds, and 17% of the population

will develop severe obesity. It's time to take action!

Stock up on determination, add physical activity and review your diet - where you can reduce

portions or calories.

But, in addition to genes, there are more familiar and familiar things that prevent weight loss.

Mainly to deposits of dangerous visceral fat on the abdomen lead to violations of the level of sex

hormones and thyroid hormones.

To check yourself it is worth taking tests for:

- Sex hormones.

- Thyroid hormones.

- Glucose levels.

- Insulin.

- Cortisol.

- Glycated hemoglobin.

An individual list will help to make a doctor. He will also give recommendations to normalize the

hormonal background (this is what modern medicine can do) and find effective methods of

normalizing weight. We wish everyone good luck in plans to normalize weight and good health!

And what do you think - will scientists really succeed in creating such pills? And, if so, when?
