Make-up during pregnancy

Every woman wants to be beautiful, and the expectation of replenishment - not at all a reason to refuse to take

care of yourself. What cosmetics to use during pregnancy to feel comfortable and not to harm the baby?

Body care

First of all, pregnancy and cosmetics - not mutually exclusive concepts, just during the expectation of a child is

better to give preference to natural and hypoallergenic means. Now there are quite a lot of brands for a wide range

of wallets with lines of care products for pregnant women.

If you don't trust them, you can try using homemade recipes based on natural ingredients. Olive oil, coconut oil,

wheat germ oil and almond oil are great for moisturizing the body and helping to fight against stretch marks. You

can use a sugar or salt scrub once or twice a week to improve the condition of your body skin: simply apply fine

salt in circular motions to Moisten your skin and then cleanse it by rinsing with water.

Facial care

To care for oily skin, as well as the appearance of acne, it is better to refuse to use special creams, as they usually

contain dangerous salicylic acid. Improve the condition of problematic facial skin during pregnancy can be folk

remedies, applying, for example, a mask based on dry yeast.

Dry skin also needs special care while expecting a child: do not use soap to remove makeup, it is better to use a

moisturizing gel for washing and choose a cream containing vitamin E and aloe vera.

Hair care

Many women note that during pregnancy, hair becomes less brittle and practically does not fall out. All this is the

result of hormonal changes that occur in the body during the period of waiting for the baby. Nevertheless,

protection and moisturizing are still the best friends of your hairstyle, and to choose natural shampoos and hair

masks will not be difficult. Ideally, if their composition will be organic vegetable substances.

To reduce the adverse effects on the body of daily use (and therefore inhalation) of hairspray, it is better to replace

it with fixing foams, emulsions, waxes and others.

Gentle colors without ammonia and tinted shampoos, if used within reasonable limits, will not cause much harm.

It is better not to buy ordinary household dyes for home use in the store, and go to a good salon and consult with a

professional hairdresser, what will suit you during pregnancy.

Hair coloring can be done using and natural dyes - henna or basma. However, it should be taken into account that

such coloring will be very resistant and ordinary factory-made dyes, if you then decide to use them, will not

hold - you will have to wait until henna-colored hair grows back and you can cut them off.

Nail care

Manicures and pedicures are an important part of self-care. But frequent inhalation of vapors of nail polish and removers is far from useful, especially if you sit in a crowded or poorly ventilated salon. You can be satisfied with home manicures and pedicures, including various softening and strengthening baths, correction of nail plates, grinding. And to paint your nails, it is better to choose lacquers without toluene, dibutyl phthalate and formaldehyde. Lacquer remover liquid should be based on soy or water, without acetone.

Decorative cosmetics

The main rule for pregnant women when using decorative cosmetics is to choose hypoallergenic means.

The makeup itself should preferably be left as light as possible: a dash of lipstick, a light application of mascara,

a little shadow on the eyelid and a soft touch of blush. Tonal cream and powder can clog pores, so favor a

lightweight fluid or mineral powder. As a decorative product for the lips during pregnancy, it is better to choose

moisturizing balms with a light shade.

Fragrances

During pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, the future mother may be particularly sensitive to smells, so

there is a chance that even the smell of her favorite perfume will seem too intense or unpleasant.

If hypersensitivity to fragrances appeared, it is better not to torture yourself, and stop for a while to generally use

perfume or toilet water and pick up cosmetics without perfumes (as a rule, such options are available from brands

of "drugstore" cosmetics based on thermal water).

During pregnancy, hormonal restructuring often leads to active sweating and intensification of natural odors.

Choosing a deodorant, it is better to give preference to one that will not contain alcohol, parabens and aluminum.

In stores of natural and organic cosmetics you can pick up a special talcum powder or powder that will prevent

the appearance of sweat odor.

Tanning

During pregnancy, it is better not to use a tanning bed and do not use means for auto-tanning. If it is very

necessary to change the complexion, it is better to pick up BB-cream or mineral powder.

Sunbathing on the beach under the direct rays of the sun is also not useful - it is better for a mom-to-be to rest in

the shade, not forgetting to use sunscreen. In this matter of economy is definitely not place - choose a cream with

maximum protection factor (you can "children") and use as often as the specific instructions suggest.

Epilation

Epilation is better to carry out methods that exclude the use of special means. It is easiest to do with a quality

female razor or use an electric depilatory, if you are not afraid of pain when plucking hairs.

Cosmetics in pregnancy: what should not be used

Retinol (vitamin A), usually found in anti-aging cosmetics. High doses of retinol may increase the risk of fetal

abnormalities

Fragrances with phthalates. They can cause liver and kidney damage. Perfumes, body lotions, deodorants that

have fallen under suspicion, it is better to replace with similar children's products - creams, shampoos, wet wipes.

Skin whitening products with hydroquinone or glutathione, affecting the enzymes that produce melanin. Any

active interference in the natural processes of skin formation is extremely harmful to the baby.

Autotanning products with dihydroxyacetone (DHA), exposure to which can lead to adverse effects such as

cancer, reproductive problems and mutagenic effects.

1,4 dioxane (1,4 dioxane) is a carcinogen that enters the body through the skin.

Parabens (parabens), used as a preservative in cosmetics. They contribute to breast cancer, accumulate in the body

and negatively affect the reproductive system.

Ethylene oxide (ethylene oxide), used to soften components that are too harsh. Having disinfectant properties, it

can also act on the human body as a carcinogen and mutagen.

Products with hormones, which can cause hormonal imbalance in the blood and detrimentally affect the

development of the fetus. Sodium lauryl sulfate, if its content in the product exceeds 2%.
